Who am I?

7.02.06 I kept adding stuff to this post because whenever I went through it, it always seemed to lack something, but now that I've come up with 24 things that tell something about me, I shall stop now. Really. REALLY.

1. My friends like to say that I'm a rather apathetic person - actually, a very apathetic person who has no feelings or cares whatsoever about the world that goes around her. Many times has it been repeated that not one of them would ever come to me for a problem, simply because I seem not to listen or care at all once they tell me about what it is that troubles them. It's a common misconception, and it kind of makes me sad that it even comes from my own friends. I'm a person who feels wrongly judged. What they see as apathy is probably a facade that I've kept for too long - it's just that, I always feel uncomfortable whenever someone opens up to me. I never know what the right things to say are or what it is that they want me to say or do. I don't know if they want advice or a friend to say that everything's going to be okay, but it always always results to an expression that seems to tell them, Uh huh. Right. That's nice. I may never be one to say the proper things, but I'm a friend who listens.

2. I keep to myself. I'm not the type of person who'll show her feelings right out or share what she's thinking. All that I've kept inside of me are all written down in my journal. ;)

3. I like to think about the smallest and shallowest to the weirdest and deepest of things. I like reflecting about everything that comes to mind, and the best time that I do so is when I'm waiting for sleep to come.

4. I am a writer, even though I write horribly. It's the best way to let out everything that I can't say out loud.

5. I am a traveler. Next summer'll be the year that I experience one of the best trips of my life: backpacking in Europe! And one day, I plan to travel around the world for the ultimate adventure.

6. I am a singer within the walls of my room only. I like singing along to a load of songs, and I like imagining that I have a pretty voice. Pathetic, but whatever. :D

7. I am a romantic. I lovelovelove romantic movies, most of all While You Were Sleeping. Some of my most favorite daydreams are love stories I'd made up and wished that were actually mine to tell.

8. I am a procrastinator. Such a trait already shows now, because though I know I have to fix my things for tomorrow and prepare for school, I'm right in front of the computer, finishing this entry.

9. Silent waters run deep. People like saying that about me. The first thing anyone will notice about me is the fact that I'm rather quiet - too quiet at times, which annoys everyone, including myself. I only like being noisy when in the company of people I'm already used to.

10. I am a sweet tooth. Chocolates are my favorite. All other sweet treats come next.

11. I am a student who's worrying too much about college entrance exams. I like thinking about the future, most especially about college life. My anticipation for college kind of surpasses my missing WR. ;P

12. Kuripot ako. I'd rather save than spend money on anything, even when it comes to food.

13. I'm a geek. I like talking about HTML with Mariel; I love the www that I go online every day when possible; before, I was seriously obsessed with Harry Potter and anime to the point that I read fanfiction about them; I enjoy National Geographic; I find some sort of joy in solving an algebra problem; and I like laughing about the stupidest things. Hahah.

14. I'm a vain person. I'm a girl and I like making sure that I look pleasantly presentable. I look at myself whenever I have the chance. Teehee. ;) And see my current layout? Yesssss. Vain much!

15. I'm a daydreamer. I think we all are.

16. I'm an outsider. I'll never be part of everyone else, and I'll always feel different; I don't know why though...

17. I'm a person who was born in the wrong period and place. I always thought I'd fit better in some other time span, like the Renaissance or the Classical Age; and I always thought I should have been some other nationality. (Like, I dunno, English, French., or... Croatian. LOL.) :P

18. I'm one who's looking for meaning. Early as it is, I'd like to know why I'm here. Life's either a long long race or a quick instant in time; it's only natural that I'd want to find out what I'm supposed to contribute to the world.

19. I'm not exactly nice. Just ask my mom or my brother to testify to that. o_o Like recently, I've been so *obnoxious* (as my brother tells me) to him, and I haven't been the best sister in the world... then again, when have I been that exactly?

20. I'm a photographer because I feel like being one. Wahahaha. There's no prouder feeling in the world than capturing one amazing shot using a measly, non-pro digital camera like ours. Then again, as much as I love being behind the camera, I do looooooove being a camwhore myself. ;)

21. I'm a tennis player slash fanatic wannabe. Had I the chance to go back in time, I would have sooooooo chosen tennis as my sport over badminton. And thanks to my ever so loyal Federer fan of a mother, I am now one like her... only, it's not Federer or Nadal that I like. I'm Ancic all the way!

22. I like being alone. And yet at the same time, I don't. I think I'm part-loner. Hahaha. Half of the time, I like the solitude; the other half of the time, I crave for company.

23. I am Chandler. As in, the dude from Friends. My humor is probably that of sarcasm like his. I don't know. ;P

24. I am a hermit. I love being in my room. Most of the time, I don't leave the house, just like during summer when I spent 50% of my time at home, 15% in school, 20% at ATC, 10% in training, and 5% in random places. :D

If I said I was sorry about point 1, would you freak out? I'll risk it. I'm sorry. I never know what to say either. We just didn't know you were the same.

You must really know yourself...i agree with your descriptions with the exception of the portions where you put yourself down (like as a writer...for once be mayabang! haha just kidding).

As for the singing..lol it reminds me of our voice chat for cheer making..you're not bad ah!

I forgot to point out that because of your post I got so inspired to start with mine..haha your write up is blatantly honest plus matched up with your writing skills. I envy your writing abilities...the best thing about your style is that you hit the spot with the fewest words...you somehow pick the perfect words to express something perfectly.

Anyhow, just stay as you are dearie! We love you this way <3..and someday so will Tom too. :P

From tina's comment: #5 will be one of the best experiences of your life. And if you happen to be in Rome, Hamburg, Paris or London while the tournaments are going on, grab Nadal for me, please?

This situation sounds SO FAMILIAR with the exception that i didnt have time to sneak out and watch. :( haha! please take me along with you when you go back to Europe because i terribly miss the place.

Katrina: Yes. I would. Freak out (sorta), that is. Wahahahahah. Anyway, freaking out aside... *aaaaawww* I'm sorry too. :)

Tina: Yes, let's take up tennis! Hahahah! I now know how to say 'I love you' in Croatian, so if I meet SuperMario, that will be the first thing I'll say. *grin* (And he SHOULD have been a number... hmmm. But yes, he's part of all those other numbers you just pointed out, teehee.) Yes, I shall grab Nadal for you when I see him. ;) And yey, a person who said I wasn't quiet at all! Aww, thanks. LOL.

Mariel: Me? Know myself? Psssssch, no. *swats hand emphatically* Who said I was putting myself down? They're merely the truth. ;P I told you I had a nice voice... in my room only. Wahahaha. When we were singing to the cheers, I was in my room, just so you know, which explains such a weird thing. And this post is honest? Mariel T. said it was so serious. Hahahah, the question was so deep kasi eh, and it's rare that someone asks us that, so why not be honest and serious about our answer? Hahahahah. ;D

I'm glad I read this after all else has been added. I wouldn't have wanted to miss a part.

It looks like you have a pretty good grasp of who you are. Use that knowledge. And as "melancholic" (silent waters run deep, etc.) as you are, I think you express your thoughts very well. Oh and your imagination...I see myself swimming in the same sea of thoughts...being born in a different era, in a different world.

You may be "apathetic" but it seems like your friends and family understand the love behind that "mask".

And I love the way you designed your blog. Making use of those geek skills. And photography skills. And your vanity. Haha. Kidding.

Looking forward to reading more of your insights...
